Mia Mascara Sheds Tears in a Time Warp
Mia Mascara
A spin-off illustration of a piece called "Hot Oven" about a girl encased in a time warp. Whose tears have made her Mascara run. In the original illustration, Mia dressed in her night gown is taking a casserole out of the oven wearing a fish oven glove. In the other hand, she holds a Martini glass. Why she is crying is a mystery. I leave that up to the viewer to decide.
I made this illustration from a photo of a beautiful girl I met in Florence called Mia. She makes intriguing story based photos. Sometimes, some people, just make me want to draw.

Jiang Zemin is running out of gang
Looks like Xi Jinping regime is closing in on Jiang Zemin
Just been reading this article by Larry Ong for the Epoch Times about Jiang Zemin's son being under house arrest in China. It looks like Xi Jinping is closing in on the Jiang Zemin, as he runs out of gang to support him. I think his days are numbered and his power waning.
“As is customary, moves begin with the offsprings, the sons,”
Have a read of the article below to see what's been going on with the current purge of the Jiang Gang.

A Sea of Stars
A Sea of Stars I
After watching numerous weird and wonderful videos of Sea Stars (aka Starfish) in action I have embarked on a bit of playful painting of Sea Stars. There is so many colour patterns to choose from. I'm using a range of shiny Krink and grog ink on paper, metal and wood. Being very careful of this drippy ink as its so easy to make a mess.

25th April 1999 was the first appeal against the brutal crackdown on Falun Gong in China

24th April 2016 the peaceful appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong continues
Commemorating April 25th 1999. The first peaceful appeal in Beijing against the brutal crackdown and arrests of Falun Gong at Tianjin In China.
Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to the appeals office on Fuyou Street. Most practitoners believed the National Appeals Office was somewhere in the middle of Fuyou Street near the west gate of Zhongnanhai (Chinese Communist Party HQ). Chinese security arranged the Falun Gong practitioners around the Zhongnanhai compound, creating the appearance that Falun Gong "surrounded" or "besieged" Zhongnanhai. This would later be used in the propaganda war setup by Jiang Zemin, former Chinese Communist Party leader. This was beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong.
Hi - I'm reading "The Slaughter: Mass Killings, Organ Harvesting, and China's Secret Solution to Its Dissident Problem" by Ethan Gutmann and wanted to share this quote with you. "So as April 25 dawned, a lovely, crisp spring morning, a thirty-three year old consultant Zeng Zheng—better known by her foreign name Jennifer Zeng—pulled her bike into Fuyou Street and instantly noticed that something was a little off. Jennifer had briefly worked in the Zhongnanhai compound and knew the security intimately. Normally there were so many guards that it was difficult to enter the street without being questioned. Now, just before 7 a.m., practitioners were strolling down Fuyou street chatting and looking around for the appeals office, as if they were in a shopping mall. But a line of police stood on the southern end. The police told the practitioners to go back up the block and stand at the entrance to the hutong, across from Zhongnanhai's western gate. At the same time, up at the north entrance to Fuyou, policemen were carefully leading practitioners to the west side of the street and directing them to walk south. Both groups merged right outside the main entrance of Zhongnanhai. The National Appeals Office would open at 8:00 a.m., they were told. Jennifer understood: “They were very well prepared, they were expecting us.”" Start reading it for free: http://amzn.to/1rdvKDI -------- Download Kindle for Android, iOS, PC, Mac and more http://amzn.to/1WLoAkB

Chasing Amy series gets a colour injection on Art Rookie
First up in the Chasing Amy series to get an injection of colour is "Moment of Madness". My personal fave in the comic strip of nine panels. Originally screen printed on acrylic sheets in black and white. Since then I've coloured them in. Next will be PHEEP.
Screen printing them will be a little bit more expensive but for now there are unsigned digital prints available on Art Rookie of "Moment of Madness". I do like both the stark black and white and colour. But it's good to see them side by side in the two different styles. Original source photos taken by my friend, Ben Dome.

Sleep
Having just recently rewatched They Live. I thought I would draw my own ghoul from the film. Those sunglasses really do expose what lies beneath the surface of society. This film is even more relevant now than it was in the 80s.

Battle of Waterloo
The Battle of Waterloo 2015 down the graffiti tunnel on the London South Bank
British Transport Police vs Neboe
I went down to check out The Battle of Waterloo at Leake Street Graffiti tunnel near London's South Bank. Lots of tight stylish writers and energetic street art was on show, presented by the paint shop Chrome & Black.
About 40 artists took part in The Battle, which filled the tunnel with a cloud of sweet smelling spray paint mixed with barbecued jerk chicken, being sold to hungry punters. DJ's pumped out some hefty beats making the party bounce. Even the British Transport Police made an appearance. It looked like they were being taught how to hold a spray can, by one of the artists.
Slam was the overall winner of the £250 prize money, Diet came second and Debug came third.

Libor what is it good for?
Today city trader Tom Hayes was banged up for 14 years for conspiracy to defraud.
Today city trader Tom Hayes was banged up for 14 years for conspiracy to defraud. He got done for fixing the global Libor interest rates. Allegedly the rigging is widespread.
So I read that the apparent Libor money benchmark, gets swizzed around in exchange for a mars bar. Why are they still using it? Hasn't Libor become a rotten bench. How much could you fix for a battered mars bar?
