1984: Thought Police Dog Squad Story
Recently I designed a 1984 book cover for SVSLearn monthly challenge. Having just re-read the book. I have developed a spin-off story idea based around that oppressive totalitarian world where The Party rules. Set in London. The story is based on the Thought Police and a member of their Dog Squad - Mangy Dog.
1984 Book cover designs
Recently I designed a 1984 book cover for SVSLearn monthly challenge. Having just re-read the book. I have developed a spin-off story idea based around that oppressive totalitarian world where The Party rules. Set in London. The story is based on the Thought Police and a member of their Dog Squad - Mangy Dog.
I made the drawings using Adobe Project Gemini (in BETA).
Hate Week - The Stick
Mangy Dog wakes up to and escapes their brain washing and goes on the run through the streets of London. The relentless oppression leads him to look for a way out of the city during Hate Week. Along the way he witnesses all the atrocities the Party commits in keeping their party members and proletariat inline.
The eyes are white to show nobody is home. Mangy has his sight restored.

Having started to develop the characters I can now put together a story script.

Around The World in Eighty Frames: Antarctica - The first part of a modular panoramic landscape and cityscape series. Viewed from a helicopter overground and a submarine under the sea. Each illustration has to work as a singular piece with built in story cliff hangers. When complete the illustration can be slotted together into one sweeping cross section of the world
The Lost Minotaur - Words written into the shape of The Minotaur lost in the Labyrinth. The Minotaur was a brass coloured fearsome creature with a muscular human body and the head and neck of a bull. Theseus the great Greek hero eventually defeated the Minotaur by seizing it by the horns, twisting and breaking It's neck.
The Machine is ready to spin. A kaleidascopic convergence of light reflecting off a centrifugal glass column. It generates thoughts and ideas and stores them in the microcosm.

Portfolio Time
So this week I’m working on putting together a new coherent portfolio based on my project See Creatures. That’s the plan.
What goes in a portfolio and what you take out is the magic sauce.
So this week I’m working on putting together a new coherent portfolio based on my project See Creatures. That’s the plan.
My drawing has improved by drawing everyday since Inktober. I didn’t manage to get every prompt during October. But the momentum has gathered since then. Time to work out what to put in and what to take out. And another ting is to make enough stuff to have choices.
Astro Snail Blasts Off
Astro Snail is finally Livin’ Astro as he blasts off into space. He plans to explore numerous galaxies, riding the waves of time and space.
The journey of Astro Snail has started as he blasts off into space
Astro Snail is finally Livin’ Astro as he blasts off into space. He plans to explore numerous galaxies, riding the waves of time and space.
Astro has equipped his heat resistant shell with a telepathic resonator for communications. He also custom made an inbuilt sound system. So he can listen to his favorite tunes and sing.
To begin his journey, first stop is planet Saturn, for the epic inter-dimensional Comet race.

Drain theme. "No You're Wrong" A Samurai Domestic.
SCORCHED
Scorched theme. Amy scorched by society. Her life over too soon.
Unicorns are Real. “For Realsies?”
This guy glows in the dark and accepts his existence. Day 15 of Inktober 2018. A real Unicorn inking, on a wooden panel with pink UV-fluorescent Molotow ink. That comes out orange in the dark when you shine a black lamp across the surface.
Unicorns are Real. “For Realsies?” An old cheeky Unicorn accepts his existence
I saw a competition on the Inktober website to win loads of stuff. The Adobe MAX + Inktober Contest. The OCT 15 prompt was LIGHT.
So I though an old cheeky glowing Unicorn would be fitting for this subject.
This creation is for my niece Freya, so I hope she likes it.
Inktober Day 1 theme is Poisonous
Poisonous “That’s Out of Order”
Inktober Day One Poisonous digital ink drawing
So Inktober has started and I’m going to crack on and draw everyday, may post every two days. But wanted to get this one out. My mate Jay sent me a pic of him flipping the bird and said sketch this. So I did a Poisonous version of his pic. I used Kyle Webster’s Marker set of pens on adobe Sketch to create this monster.
Jay’s suggestion for what I should draw for Inktober on day one.
Official Inktober 2018 prompt list
Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. 31 days, 31 drawings.

See Creatures
Detail of the giant wave
A departure from my last project on Queen Liz has led me towards photographing nature. The magic lights, life and movement of the ocean. I spent a late summer in Ibiza filming and photographing the ocean. Now after two years working on illustrating and animating the ocean I have my first complete illustration. Working title is 'Big Blue' or 'See Creatures'. I'm leaning towards 'See Creatures' suggested by my friend Joel - he's quite good at naming stuff.
Here is a snippet of it - the final is a sweeping panoramic giant wave with a plethora of creatures in it. I'm keeping it under wraps for now. Watch out for more updates on awesome ocean animations, illustrations and wallpaper videos.
Mia Mascara Sheds Tears in a Time Warp
Mia Mascara
A spin-off illustration of a piece called "Hot Oven" about a girl encased in a time warp. Whose tears have made her Mascara run. In the original illustration, Mia dressed in her night gown is taking a casserole out of the oven wearing a fish oven glove. In the other hand, she holds a Martini glass. Why she is crying is a mystery. I leave that up to the viewer to decide.
I made this illustration from a photo of a beautiful girl I met in Florence called Mia. She makes intriguing story based photos. Sometimes, some people, just make me want to draw.
